I average over 60,000 views per month but WordPress said they are not taking on any more blogs. Perhaps in the future if a slot opens up, but not now.

I plan on buying domain mapping, custom css, and later on I will buy the removal of WordPress' ads. But I was wondering if I could start adding them now? Or do I have to buy a certain feature like the No-Ads option? Or is it completely prohibited? I was thinking of something simple, along the lines of Google ads. Any tips on this would be greatly appreciated.
