I've just spotted your previous topic here:

http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/trying-to-edit-imbalance-2-theme-to-include-masthead-graphic-help?replies=6

in which you asked Timethief (who is a volunteer, too) whether you should be asking questions in this forum at all if you don't have a wordpress.com blog. Really, you shouldn't have been told by the WordPress.org people or person to come here. Maybe you just need to word your request there differently? Instead of asking about a WordPress.com theme there, just say you want to create a full-width header in your self-hosted blog.

However, a suggestion: find the name of the designer or designers of Imbalance 2 and contact them direct. That often gets a better response than asking on any of these forums, regardless of who hosts your blog.

Good luck.

The reason you were directed here is that http://thepatternedplate.wordpress.com is hosted here. However, if you're self-hosted and are using WordPress.org software, then you're posting to the wrong forum as we can't help you here. See this:

http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

and then, if you need to contacct someone at WordPress.org, go here:

http://wordpress.org/support/

Unfortunately, we can't help you here if you're self-hosted (and most of us are volunteers, anyway, so can only help with things with which we're familiar).

However, there is a blog dedicated to helping people who are blogging on WordPress.com and there's a post about making a full size header in Imbalance 2, so maybe you can work something out from this? (Bear in mind, though, that a theme in WordPress.com often doesn't have all the same features available as ones for a self-hosted site).

I have a site hosted on Blue Host using the Imbalance 2 theme. I am trying to edit it to have a graphic banner across the top, like http://thepatternedplate.wordpress.com/

I have asked for help on the wordpress.org forum, where I was told I needed to be asking for help on the WordPress.com forum. I don't fully understand why - am I asking the question in the right place? Do I need to purchase an upgrade to the theme in order to get it to do what I want?
