Usually you don't release those rights so I think you would be fine, as long as it's for non-commercial purposes and you give appropriate credit to the magazine. I've done it with some of my stories and poems and I haven't been sued yet. :)

The laws are different in different countries, though, so I can't be 100% sure. If you wanted some advice, the US Copyright Office answers questions and they might be able to help. http://www.copyright.gov/help/general-form.html Hope that helps. And welcome to WordPress!
