You can add footer widgets instead of sidebar widgets. If a sidebar is important to you, you need a different theme.

I don't know why I can't see the sidebar menu displayed on the index/posts page.
I can see the sidebar menu with the recent posts list and the Facebook button only on the "inner" pages.
Is it possible to have the same sidebar menu on the index/posts page?
