The archives link at the top of the DePo Masthead theme defaults to the current year, which probably is the source of the confusion. If you don't like that link, I would recommend using a custom menu instead.

I see the 2009 dates loading there as well.

You could also use the archives shortcode to insert a list of posts and dates into a page.

I want to be able to have viewers go back and search through...
