At this time, we aren't including notifications from private blogs, but this could change in the near future.

ok, need to add something.

i discovered that responses to comments I leave on others' PRIVATE blogs is no longer show up under "notifications". If it is on others' PUBLIC blogs, the responses to comments that i leave WILL show up under "notifications".

I noticed the no notifications problem few days ago. Still happening today.

1. browser = Chrome Version 25.0.1364.160 m (up-to-date)

2. username = yeting83

3. commented here with no notifications to replies = http://lov3ying.wordpress.com/2013/03/06/%E3%80%93-%E5%9B%9B%E4%B8%AA%E6%9C%88-%E6%94%B6%E5%8F%A3%E6%B0%B4%E5%95%A6-%E3%80%93/#comment-7891

4. Are you able to see the notifications as expected at http://wordpress.com/#!/notifications/ ? No.

5. If you expected to receive notifications via email, did they arrive, and did you check your email's spam folder? n/a (not signed up for emails)

Responses to comments I leave on others' blogs no longer show up under "Notifications". Please help, TQ.

@macmanx All of those steps have already been done while first troubleshooting the complete non-function of the notifications icon.
The steps you list are the same as timethief listed on this page I linked before. So ..been there, done that.

Hm, let's see if it's specific to your browser/setup, since I'm not noticing the issue myself.

First, please make sure that your browser is up to date by visiting http://whatbrowser.org/

If it is not, please try updating your browser or switching to a different browser.

If it is, please do these four things:

1. Try clearing your browser's cache and cookies: http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/

2. Make sure that you have third-party cookies enabled: http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/

3. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.

4. Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

Please let us know how each step goes for you, and which browser (and version of) you're using if you're still having trouble.

Well that's odd. I just tested it again and now neither of them work, either the shortcut link or the URL pasted here. When I first checked at the link you posted, and clicked on the link the page did open. I closed the page and tried opening it again and now nothing again.

Another thing I noticed if I select Reader and use the dropdown on the icon and select view all, it loads and displays 10 replies and an ever loading that never shows the other replies beyond 10 limit.

So this notifications function is still buggered to some extent.

@macmanx It appears it is just the link in the dropdown box which is "view all" and attempts to open the page you just linked.

The odd thing is that when I click on the link you posted, the page opens and loads fine. But away from this page if I copy and paste the URL into a browser and Go there ....the page doesn't load.

To illustrate, if I copy and paste the destination URL for the "view all" shortcut link founf in the dropdown window here in my post and click on that link, the page does open. But the shortcut in the dropdown box being clicked on results in an ever loading page. I am double checking this to make sure now.

ehpem, the admin bar will remain. The GLobal Dashboard is https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ and that will be retired in favor of the options at http://wordpress.com/#!/my-blogs/ (and other tabs there), but the grey admin bar will remain.

waltherpp, is it just the link that fails to work for you, or everything at https://wordpress.com/#!/notifications/ ?

The most important function, the toolbar notification icon is working. One detail though the "view all" link is not fully functional again. The notifications icon which turns orange is working properly, and the dropdown box and the reply to the notified reply functions do work normally again, but the "view all" link which opens the following page

results in an endlessly loading page with no messages displayed. This is not really an issue for me but I did notice the "view all" page did work before the trouble of the entire notifications stopping functioning on Friday. So it would seem the fix has in large part but not completely restored the earlier functionality.

@macmanx if by Global Dashboard you mean the one with the black bar at the top I will be very sorry to see it go. The blue banded screens are, I find, much harder to navigate to where I want to be and the black banded one has all that I need. For instance, when making a new post I always copy a previous one to bring across a lot of 'template' type information and formatting. The new post buttons just don't cut if for me and I want to get to copy a post feature quickly and easily. It is only getting more difficult (more clicks, less obvious ones) as time goes on.

Previously missing notifications are unfortunately lost, as they never existed in the first place, but future notifications will be visible.
