The problem is, you need to be signed in to meebo to be shown as online. If you're just on wordpress, it doesn't make a difference.

The only way to let your readers know whether or not you are online and working on your wordpress.com blog is to post the meebo widget in your sidebar. Raincoaster already made that clear and I provided the instructions. It's a wrap folks. Moving on ...

There's nothing that does one without the other. The Meebo widget is the only one around that shows when you're online. The only one that works at WP.com.

Rats! I forgot the "labels" have changed now. so here we go again.

The code is obtained from going to the meebo website http://www.meebome.com/
and registering there. It’s 3 step process to create your sidebar widget and setup an account with them. After the 3rd step there will be a box to copy the code you need to put into your sidebar widget.

1. Log into your WP admin -> Appearance -> Widgets. Find the meebo widget and click "add".
2. Click "edit" and the widget will open.
Meebo is a web-based instant message service that lets users of major IM services chat in a browser window. This widget will let your blog visitors chat with you privately without requiring you to give out your IM identities.To make this widget work, you must go get some HTML code and then paste it below.

I believe the Meebo widget will do that.

There is not a widget. But one can web surf for that type of thing. Then take the html code, and place it in a text widget. Just search for programs without javaascript, as that can't be used on WordPress. Maybe someone will come along and tell ya what they found on the net, that works?

Is there a widget that I can add to my site that says when I am online? I thought I had seen one at wordpress, but now I can not find it!
