Thank you so much iruvienne! I'd been wracking my brains and searching all over for a solution and you've made it so easy to sort out. Turns out it was simple (eek!) but when you don't know it's so frustrating.

You can put them ordered the way you want by going on each page, "Edit Page" -> "Page Attributes" area -> "Order" field. You assign each page a number (as 0, 1, 2, ...); the pages will be increasingly ordered in the way you've numbered them. However, the best and safest way would be creating a Custom Menu.
Arranging menus in the order you wanted them used to be somewhat of a pain as well. You had to set the “order” in the attributes section of the page editor to get them in order. If you later wanted to change that order, you had to edit the pages and change the order number. Now, you order pages from within the custom menu section of the dashboard with drag and drop ease.
You can find a guide about how to make a custom menu here: http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2011/08/11/wordpress-com-custom-menu-walk-through/
And also on the support page: http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/

I would like to move the order of the pages as they appear in my Creative Intersections blog to:
What's it about
Who's involved
What have we been doing
What else is going on
(i.e. swop the last two around)
And can't find out how to! Please help!
