It's not possible at all on WordPress.COM without the VIP program, which costs several thousand dollars to set up.

You need to get paid hosting and install software from WordPress.ORG and go from there. Then it's possible.

What you can do here: tell users to sign up for a WordPress.com account and upload an avatar. Put a Paypal donation button on the site. You can't effectively wall off premium content. You can't create a unique user registration system.

I want users to be able to create an account with a username and password that also includes a "profile" and at least one uploaded picture of themselves and then maybe allow access to premium content. I'd also like there to be a donate or paypal button on the site. I've tried searching for this stuff and am just getting more and more confused. I know I'm probably wasting your time right now, but I'm trying to put this site for a class project and am about to smash my computer into pieces if I can't figure something out here. Thanks in advance to anyone that can at least point me in the right direction.
