Yes, that's what I did at the start. I read that page as I think I was directed there for 'trying to increase traffic' but then found it made no difference. I then started to get that posted side bar where it lists more tags for you to try if you edit and update. I thought more tags would allow for more searches, although tbh, it didn't make difference on the traffic. I've gone back to how I did it before.
Have a good weekend :)

That's exact what I have always recommended. When it comes to tags -- less is more -- use the minimum number of relevant tags that accurately reflect the content.

I thought this post had dropped to the side :)

I did a test on a few blog posts using diff blogs and it seemed I had to use 7 tags and not my usual 10. Unless some were useless and not important, therefore deemed as a post not worth pushing into reader?
Either way, I'm confused that the post settings bring up more tag suggestions if you are limited!

Thanks for the replies :)

I would suggest choosing carefully and limiting tags to the main theme of the post and ignore other tag suggestions.

There are multiple threads on this issue. Have you confirmed that none of these reasons apply? global tags > missing posts

The global tags pages now referred to as Topics have been broken for a long time perhaps due those legions who spam it and who try to game it everyday day in and day out. Staff decided to focus on integrating the topic browsing experience with the Reader and to discontinue the old listings. See here > http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/why-has-wp-destroyed-my-hit-count-with-the-topics-reader?replies=16#post-882963

The flow of traffic from the global tags pages to my blogs has never ever been sigificant and at best is negligible. It's Google that sends traffic to blogs. Search spiders are focused on keywords found in content. Tags are not required for SEO purposes and Matt Cutts of Google makes that clear Revisiting Keywords and Tags

My blog post isn't showing up in the reader?
I've deleted and re-posted but still it doesn't show, yet it shows older posts.
I've checked when I'm logged out, under the tag 'Education' and its there but if I log in, I then get diverted to the reader and it doesn't show. This is also the case if I'm logged under a different blog.
Why is this?
Thanks
