This is related to the "latest posts" feature in selecta - not to sticky posts for the slider. These are a key feature of the theme and in the demo the latest post displayed a thumbnail of the photo or video contained in the post. Mine only display the text. Would appreciate a solution.

sticky posts http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/#sticky-posts

At Appearance > Theme Options in your Dashboard you'll see an option for "Show sticky posts in a featured slider on the front page". If you enable that the slider should appear on your homepage. After you enable the slider, it will appear at the top of your front page once you mark at least two posts as sticky. If you have just one sticky post, that post will stand on its own at the top of the page.

P.S. The featured post slider will not appear on the front page if you create a static front page.

I can't seem to figure out how to get my blog to show the images from my posts rather than the writing in my "latest posts" area. When I had first posted, my image showed up perfectly from the post in the latest post area. Now I have writing for each post (just a snippet of course). Is there something I've done while writing/figuring out my Selecta theme that has "undone" the original idea? I much prefer the pictures to show as the preview of the latest posts...
