I see the point now...

but I tried to put on my function.php file the following code

function hello() {
    return 'Hello, World!';
}
add_shortcode('hw', 'hello');

and calling the shortcode [hw] I have the same result, no "Hello, World!" string, only [hw] on the page...

Try searching for a contact form plugin that you can use with your self-hosted blog.

I've had a personal blog for quite a while but am now creating a more complicated one for my small business http://vabutterflies.wordpress.com. I would like to add a contact form.

I have followed instructions and added the shortcode [contact-form] as described http://support.wordpress.com/contact-form/ All I get is the shortcode appearing as typed in the page and not the actual form.

I then found the list of shortcodes http://support.wordpress.com/shortcodes/ and it says to use [contact-from] which I thought was probably a typo but tried it anyway. No that doesn't work either.

Can anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong?
