Hold shift and press enter which will put in a standard break (no blank line). In graphic design/page layout, it is called a soft return.

1. To get standard line spacing on paragraphs (blank line between paragraphs) select all the text in the post, click on the “format” pulldown at the left end of the lower row of icons and select paragraph.

2. If you want a standard paragraph break, at the end of a paragraph, press return/enter.

3. If you want no blank line, hold down shift and then press return/enter.

You will get double spacing between paragraphs in every theme here of which I’m aware. To get single spacing hold the SHIFT key down when you click ENTER at the end of the paragraph.

Thank you for that invisible/white period trick! It finally added line spaces to a post that was quoted text next to an image, after I had tried all the other methods without success.

Hmm.. try forcing a break in html editing (not sure if this is going to show up, but: "
") after each line you want to double-space, then view it in visual mode to make sure it looks like you want, and update your post.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I'm sorry if I couldn't help! I have trouble with double breaks as well, and I cheat by putting a white ("invisible") period (".") to force an extra line.

THis issue has happened with me a few times in the past, usually I can work around it by using the "shift enter" command at the end of a paragraph, sometimes I need to add it twice to make the line spacing "stick" once the post is updated

today I had to give up, no matter what I did, the end of my post refuses to show right once I save it.

If anyone can help, this is the post, check the final bit to see what I mean
