- As to the password, unfortunely no. I have a feeling that a priovate forum may be better suited for what you are asking for as you can turn on and off access. What you asking for is against the whole point of a blog.

Surely automatic registration and password receipt bypasses the need for the password in the first place?

That's for writing and commenting on the blog. It's still readable though.

Unfortunately, with the free blog that you have running here there's no way to offer a sign up option. You can do this with a self-hosted wordpress blog though...
