macmanx, Jenia --

Thanks for this info. A related question (possibly) -- is there a reason why my admin view/dashboard does not include a plug-ins option? I thought the absence had something to do with the multiple domain names but now I'm not sure. How can I access the plug-ins option? Goal is Facebook-bnbhiouchi integration.

Thanks.

Curt

Yes, a domain name is just that, a name. It's not actually the site itself.

If you were to move the name elsewhere, you would then be using whatever exists where you moved it to.

Hi Jenia,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I understand the redirect function, and I don't have a problem with renewing registration -- it just seems like a sloppy way to manage content given I don't need the riverhousehiouchi domains. If I were to move to another host does the wordpress template and dashboard remain or does that all go away, to be replaced by the new host's UI and and dashboard protocols?

Thank you again. Curt

Hi Curt,

bnbhiouchi.com is set as your primary domain under Store > Domains. When visitors type in an address starting with riverhousehiouchi.com or with riverhousehiouchi.wordpress.com, they are being automatically redirected to bnbhiouchi.com.

I'd actually recommend you don't cancel anything and keep things as-is. Your free blog riverhousehiouchi.wordpress.com is where your content is actually stored; you'd need to move your content to a new host if you decided to delete it. riverhousehiouchi.com is a secondary custom domain name for your blog; however has you bookmarked under that address will be able to find your blog as long as you keep your domain name registration.

I hope this helps - let me know if you have any further questions!

I initiated my blog using the riverhousehiouchi.wordpress.com domain and then riverhousehiouchi.com domain. Shortly afterward I secured the domain bnbhiouchi.com and made that url my primary domain. However I still see the riverhousehiouchi.com domain appear in my address field when I am in my dashboard view and some photos posted in the early days of the blog).

I would like to eliminate the riverhousehiouchi.com and riverhousehiouchi.wordpress.com domains from all parts of my blog but am concerned that if I do so (including renaming the web address of photos) I may detrimentally affect live content.

I am looking at the following page <https://riverhousehiouchi.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains> and wondering if this page offers the first step to eliminate the riverhousehiouchi domains. And if it does, what the steps I should take.

Thanks very much.
