I have received this error as well. My website is on WordPress.com. Any help you can give me would greatly be appreciated.

And I for over an hour, I've gotten that error every time I click on the Publicize Sharing configuration option for adding a Facebook connection. I'm not getting asked again for any options, it only emits that error.
