Many of the sites they ping are unsophisticated and require you to register in advance, though, and some, like BlogTopSites (primarily UK) require you to host a button widget for them.

I have a backup system at Pingoat that I ping manually every time I update, just in case Pingoat fails, which it does from time to time.

I think I can to make concrete my cuestion...
When WordPress make a ping to Ping-o-Matic, this one realice a ping to several blogs, like Weblogs. My doubt is: is necesary to register (for example) in Weblogs previously to make a ping to Ping-o-Matic for the ping are effective?
