I think you should make the padding at the very top of the page smaller:

#header {
    padding: 0;
}

I think you should add back a site title (it's good for search engines and bookmarking, etc.) and then if you want to hide the text in browsers, try this: 

#site-title hs span a {
    text-indent: -9999px;

I'm desperately trying to remove the posted-on date and author from my Vostok site and have tried numerous attempts in the CSS editor, but with no joy. I've researched a bit online, but the advice seems to be about different themes, or using php code. Can anyone help - it's really annoying me! :)
