I expand by saying that all themes have a default sidebar display.

That's not correct: some themes don't have a sidebar at all, and some themes don't display a sidebar unless you add widgets.

@echoacoustics
Even though you are using the Enterprise theme, I think you will benefit from reading what I just posted for @speechacousticslab who is using the MistyLook theme.

I expand by saying that all themes have a default sidebar display. The display does not contain actual widgets. It's when we go here . Appearance > Widgets and install the widgets of our own choice that we override the default display.

Enterprise is a 2-column Widget-ready theme. If you want a one column theme see here > http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/one-column/

@speechacousticslab
Just to be clear on two points:
(1) removing all widgets from a sidebar is acconmplished by placing an empty text widget in the top of the sidbar. Open it, add anothing, click "save" and then click "close".

For space issues, I want to get rid of these boxes (besides, I do not need them). Simply saying, I want to have just one column posts.. How can I get this?

(2) If you think that removing widgets in a sidbear makes your theme change from being a 2 column theme to a one column theme and that you can blog in the sidebar that's not the case.

If you want a one column theme see here > http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/one-column/

Hi,

The only problem I'm having with my webpage is that I cannot remove the column on the right side (recent posts, archives, categories, and meta). For space issues, I want to get rid of these boxes (besides, I do not need them). Simply saying, I want to have just one column posts.. How can I get this?

Thanks,
