It's an image and there are many free RSS icons on the interent. You capture an image of one and place it in an image widget or a text widget and link it to your feed for posts and/or comments.

This is your feed URL for comments > http://pubgraphics.wordpress.com/comments/feed/
If you prefer you can place this widget in your sidebar > RSS widget > http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/rss-widget/
Another alternative is to place the Meta widget in your sidebar.

Also, I understand that I have an RSS feed childsm.wordpress.com/feed/ - this is XML (at the top of the feed it says "This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below." - is that how it's supposed to be?
