I'm not sure what happened, but suddenly WP just started working, and the redirect errors stopped. Hopefully they won't happen again, and I'm not sure what caused them to stop in the first place.

I'm sorry :( you have stated you already tried force clearing your browser cache and cookies.
(1) Do you have another browser you can try?
(2) How are your connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com?
The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers. There may be problems with your ISP.
(3) Have you had any recent OS updates or security or firewall updates?

I'm using Safari 5 to browse WP. Currently whenever I click on any dashboard link at the top, I get an error that says there were "too many redirects". I've tried clearing my history, emptying my cache, and resetting Safari, all to no avail. I can still view blogs, and some links on the SITE work. But, for example, if I try to edit my profile I get the "redirects error". I'm currently using Safari 5.1 on a Mac run-on OSX Lion.
