I have done all I can to no avail. One thing: With the dashboard page up ... when I hit the 'refresh' button .. the search box show up very briefly in that gray strip that has 'My Account', 'My Bog' etc .... then disappears. Quite frustrating !

Try setting your browser window to the maximum size and see if the search field shows up. On a smaller screen this might not be possible. We are aware of the problem and looking into a fix.
