Hmmm, drmike, I'm curious about that. I don't understand why using blog.astrydmoore.com does not require access to wp.com's nameservers, but using http://www.astrydmoore.com does...?

The issue is that you would have to have access to wp.com's nameservers to make those modifications and that's a security concern.

OK, I'm sorry, I should have read more before I posted.

On a more thorough reading of the domain mapping section of the FAQ I found instructions on setting up a CNAME record.

It's a shame I can't have my blog at http://www.astrydmoore.com though...

Hi,

I have registered a domain and am hosting it (DNS and mail forwarding) elsewhere. I'd like to get http://www.astrydmoore.com to point to my blog. I understand that I have to use the "domains" upgrade to do this, but it's not clear to me from the interface how to achieve what I want without using wordpress's nameservers, which I don't want to do.

What entry / entries do I have to add to my DNS in order to achieve this? Can I just create an A or CNAME record for http://www.astrydmoore.com and point it at wordpress.com somehow?

I used "feedback" to ask this question but didn't get a reply, so I thought perhaps I was supposed to ask here. Apologies if this is the wrong place.
