Site Redirect is designed to redirect all links to a self-hosted WordPress site using the same permalinks, so it basically just replaces [blog].wordpress.com with your new domain along with the redirect.

It's not designed to accommodate the variety of possible link structures out there. If you new site does not match the structure or permalinks of your old blog, it will not work properly.

I purchased a Site Redirect from my old WordPress blog to my new self-hosted WordPress blog. I've noticed, however, that Google links to my old WordPress blog (internal links to individual blog entries) don't lead to my new blog. They go to an Error 404 message. Does this sort itself out, in time? Or am I supposed to do something else so that all these internal links to my blog start functioning? (Kind of defeats the purpose of the Site Redirect purchase, if not.)
