You need to head over to http://wordpress.ORG/support/ which is where self-hosted wordpress sites are supported. You can take the "index.php" out of the URL on your new site so that they will be the same structure as here, and really I always recommend not having that in a URL as not having it makes things cleaner. It is a simple configuration change that you will have to make in the wp-config.php file.

Hi, I have a problem with site redirect. I had a WordPress.com-hosted blog, but with a third party domain (i.e. not with "wordpress" in the domain name). The links to posts were: "http://domainname/year/month/day/title-of-the-post". I then transferred the domain to another registrar and moved the blog to a self-hosted site based on WordPress.org software, the domain name remaining the same. The links to the posts are now: "http://domainname/index.php/year/month/day/title-of-the-post. Obviously the old links do not work, so I set up a site redirect in my WordPress.com account to get all traffic to the new blog - the site redirect is "http://domainname/index.php", however it does not work as expected. The old links lead to a "not found" page.

Any idea what went wrong and how to fix it? Thanks.
