Unfortunately there is no theme option for that. With Custom Design subscription, you could hide those image manually with CSS rules but I don't really recommend to do that because you are going to need to add CSS rules every time you add an image to the slider.

There are quite few themes that have post slider -> http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/post-slider/ and most of them don't display duplicated images.

That's great I love the slideshow concept but is there a way to hide the individual picture posts underneath?
