First upload your pictures to your library, by clicking the 'add media' button when you're editing a post.
Then follow the descriptions from there.

After uploading your photos you hit the 'create new gallery' button on the upper left corner while viewing your library.
After that you'll have to choose how to display your gallery, and it is possible to choose slideshow.

Go to this site http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/gallery/ and scroll down to the part that says 'gallery settings'.

The site is SacStateSports.com and we started it last year. The closest I have come to finding slideshows is a button on the dashboard for "Slides." When I try to post slides I get Error-404 when trying to view them. How do I add slideshows to SacStateSports.com?
