Last year's script was "lighter" on CPU resources, but we also had a way to opt out (if you knew about it). Who knows what/if will happen this year.

Don't forget that if your blog is mostly white or light colored, the snow effect is somewhat lost.

Past performance is not (always) a prediction of future events—especially those which we have no control over.

If it is offered, I hope that year 3 will mean that it's an "opt-in" choice rather than us having to do something to turn it off.

Page loading time matters and is expected to become a page ranking factor in 2010. Thank goodness this is now an optional feature.

The first year it was a heavy CPU load, but the second year it was better, but it is a cumulative thing and the longer you are on a site with snow, the more CPU power it takes.
