I have the same problem. All my posts are gone!
The day before yesterday, the code of my blog went wrong.
Most of my articles were written in Chinese, and some are English and Japanese. Everything was fine until that day.
I already sent the feedback, but the problem isn't solved yet.

I too, have the exact same problem. Except, 600 blog posts are all gone when I tried to edit my latest entry. I have no idea how they disappeared. The only thing that appeared was "Sorry, no posts matched your criteria".

Is there anything that can be done about this?

Sigh.

It's not the sidebar that I was referring to; it's the global tag. WP.com lists over 149,000 users, and yet a fairly common category choice like "Art & Entertainment" (http://wordpress.com/tag/art-entertainment/) lists only duckduckbook's posts.

I suppose that it is possible that he/she is the only person to have chosen that specific category designation. The more correct "Arts & Entertainment" (http://wordpress.com/tag/arts-entertainment/) global tag lists many people.

See what I get for watching Chicken Little. I'm running around telling everyone that the sky is falling. :>

You've accidentally figured out how to hijack a global WP tag and associate it solely with your blog

Anyone can do that if the tag is obscure enough. I own 'wank'. Where is my promised flood of traffic?

actually, *duckduckbook*'s blog categories are just plain broken.

ex: clicking on the "art & entertainment" in sidebar area gets me a list of posts categorized as:
"technology", "social sciences", "history & geography" and so on...

Oh, my gosh, that's so awesome. You've accidentally figured out how to hijack a global WP tag and associate it solely with your blog. Do you know the kind of traffic you could generate for yourself if you were willing to exploit that. There's a bug fix that the admins better get on quick. ;>

Ooh, thanks, that's a great suggestion. But, I had the problem with two categories -- the first one does have an ampersand, but the second doesn't.

Also, I changed my mind a whole bunch about what the category names should be, and over the course of the last few months I've tinkered with this quite a bit.

And now I'm afraid to tinker (change the ampersands to & a m p ;) because I don't want all my posts to become unassociated the way they did when I changed the category descriptions. I don't have any ampersandish categories that only have 1 or 2 posts in them. . .

Of course the tag in the *posts* link to the theoretically global wordpress tag, and that works fine. It's the links in my sidebar that return the error message discussed above. These are the links that should bring users to all the posts I've written in a particular category.

I'm not sure, but it may have to do with the use of the ampersand in your category names. For instance, thelostwing's category called "Artwork & Photography" actually points to a tag called "artwork", and duckduckbook has a category called "art & entertainment" which actually points to a tag called "art-entertainment".

It's purely a guess, but you might try renaming the category without an ampersand or use the "escaped" version of it below (sans spaces):

& a m p ;

Therefore, "Artwork & Photography" would become "Artwork & a m p ; Photography". I don't know if this will make a difference, but I figured that it was worth a try.

Ack! I have the same problem. It happened after I edited the description of a category. It is actually the second problem associated with this edit -- after editing the description, the category unasociated itself with most of the posts it was attached to. When I went back and added the cateogry to the old posts, i got the problem with the category link on my sidebar returning a message: "Sorry, no posts matched your criteria."

But there are posts, 23 of them!

sigh.

Hi. Sorry if this was already asked, but why do I get "Sorry, no posts matched your criteria." when I click on the category Artwork & Photography? There are suppose to be three posts in that category, but they won't show up.
