I don't like that ad either, and too be honest with you all, I had no idea that was spam until I read it here. I wouldn't know what spam looked like, unless it was sitting in a can in front of me. So, I appreciate your efforts in reporting this.

Maybe it's time to upgrade to a no ad blog.

Sadly I don't think the ad in question is anything out of the ordinary for wordpress.com nowadays. It's always worth reporting them just so they're aware that not everyone is OK with them, and to try and put them off showing even more, but these kind of ads have been appearing for months now with no real sign of their incidence decreasing.

As mentioned above, we sometimes run ads to cover the bills. In this case, the OP noticed that one of our ads was rather spammy and reported it so that we could take action.
