I use the WordPress Reader to follow a few topics, and increasingly I am finding them overrun with spam posts. It seems like all the spam posts in all the affected topics follow exactly the same format, suggesting that they are automatically generated.

I keep submitting these sites as spammers and they disappear after a day or two, but really, I've been doing this for weeks now and the same kinds of sites keep reappearing and flooding these topics. It makes using the Reader far less pleasant, to the point of where I'm considering giving up on it.

What can be done to prevent this kind of spam from happening in the first place? Is it a pipedream hope?
