If you have a WP.com blog, however, you never need to worry about either. It's all stored by WP.com on their servers and you have no access to the php files. If you have a WP.org blog, then you have to deal with those things yourself.

Is SQL or PHP relevant to wordpress.com blogs or the wordpress.org installation, where wordpress.com is not the server for your blog?

Basically I'm confused as to what SQL has to do with a wordpress blog; how it is utilized in this context.
