Infinite scroll is **great** but it's really only helpful if someone is working from the front page (ie, not trying to read a series of posts in order) and not back-reading (ie, not needing to scroll down very far to "find" the next post in the series manually.

Thanks for the update, though.

re: Previous/Next post navigation links

There are no cookie cutter themes here. Every one is uniquely designed. Staff have been introducing “infinite scroll" to themes — a site wide change that will be applied to all themes that are suitable for the implementation. http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/to-infinity?replies=137
http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2012/06/12/to-infinity-and-beyond/

Disabling the infinite scroll feature to get rid of the pop-up in the footer results in a "Load More Posts" tab, and you can't disable that "Load More Posts" tab from appearing and have "previous post" and "next post" links, without the Custom Design upgrade. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/

I own or manage multiple blogs. Some use a theme for which Previous/Next post navigation links are standard (appear and can't be moved or altered), some have Previous/Next post navigation OPTIONS (top or bottom of post, or hide entirely) and some (including Chaotic Soul, which I love in all other ways) that doesn't offer this feature at all.

Being able to move from post to post seems like pretty basic functionality. I know that certain features of themes do get updated from time to time. I would love it if making navigation options available for all themes could be implemented over time.

Just a suggestion. Thanks.

PS Being able to search for themes by font faces (serif/sans serif) and by availability of navigation options would be really handy too.
