Your issue is not the same.

Likes and shares are misleading when you are talking about page view stats. Your followers and anyone with a WordPress.com blog who is logged into WordPress.com can "like" and "share" your posts in several locations such as the Reader without ever clicking into your blog and creating a page view stat.
http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/07/09/wordpress-followers-likes-and-stats/

I choose to reduce my RSS Feed to "summary" here > Settings > Reading
For each article in a feed, show
Full text
Summary
Doing that compels followers to click in and read the full post on my blogs.

WordPress.com stats are not real time stats. that means they take time to update. Also as I posted above one does not need to click into your blog and create a page view stat to click a like button.

Why don’t post/page views add up to total views?
Post/page views are included in total views, but there are many views to your site that are not a post or page URL. The front pages, category/tag/date/author archives, and searches are all examples of other views that only count towards total views.

I have had a similar problem. My view counts dropped. I had not posted anything over the holidays.
After the holidays I published several posts. I get emails that people have liked my posts. If I go into the posts stats it will show the number of people that liked the posts, but the number of views is zero.
On one day I had 4 people like the post, even some new followers, but only 1 view captured.

Hi there - your site is showing 3 views so far today and 11 views on Nov. 26. It's possible that no one visited your site for a few weeks, especially since your last post was back in March.

I'm not sure what caused the two-day spike, but it looks like an anomaly of some kind. On November 11 and 12, virtually all the visits were due to searches for the term "priest garments."

We have a good collection of tips on bringing more traffic to your site if you'd like to look at building your readership:

My blog received a spike of 4,335 views on Nov. 11, followed the next day by 958 views. Since Nov. 12, not one single view has registered on the bar graph; it's totally flatlined. Has my blog been compromised? It usually receives 3-4 views per day.
