This change may take a little while to be fully effective. Could you give it some time then try updating the name servers again?

You can go to Store > Domains on your blog's dashboard and follow the steps there.

As Jennifer suggested above you need to domain map:

http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

You will probably need a zone record added for your domain name - I will flag this for the staff to add a zone record for you

But are you using domain mapping to connect your WordPress.com site to your custom domain? Looks to me like domain masking since clicking on any link bring up your domain name only. This can sometimes lead to problems.
