The fact you had a browser issue re: viewing the stats does not in any way shape of form have an effect on the page views being recorded by the software. I expect that the stats are cached and will rectify over time. However, I flagged this thread so Staff will check your stats for you when they can.

Does that mean that any hits that have been made during the time it wasn't working will not now be recorded? I'd kind of hoped that they would be stored and would come through once it was up and running again.

My computer has only just completed updates which wouldn't apply, unless there were more while I was away. I know the potential for mechanical problems is huge with the numbers on WP, it was just unusual for this action to be working one day and not the next.

I'll keep an eye on it and see if the graph thing sorts itself out. It highlights yellow but won't reveal. I had a few hits that day and I want to know what people were reading (since they were full length articles).

I;m with therattlingdoor on this. Sitemeter, Statcounter, wordpress stats and all the others (getclicky, whosamungus, clusrtrmaps, feedjit, etc.) will never agree. Each one of them decides how and what they will count as a hit. Some count page views and some count unique visitors. Some include visits by bots and browsers without Javascript enabled and some don't. Therefore, use any of the stats counters only as a general guide to hits.

Understand that an application that is not running on the same servers your blog is on is going to be susceptible to wild fluctuations. This is because all hits have to be transferred over the internet to different servers, and there are literally thousands of things that can go wrong between the server your blog is on and the server at the stats place. Also be aware of the possibility that the software or hardware at the stats place may be broken and not recording, or counting things as intended.

But, you have to bear in mind that WP don't show the stats for bots, not even for Googlebot, whereas statcounter and site Meter do. But you would get an idea as to whether you actually are getting 'real' hits, and whether or not your WP stats are working or frozen.

I have not touched the compatibility mode within IE9, nor have I enabled any add-ons (I don't like them) so these things are not an issue. I was away fro three days so hadn't even accessed my blog on my home computer.

The hits on the main page have updated but the breakdown when I click on the links refuse to load. This has been going on since Friday.

I have not changed anything re my browser (IE9) for this to happen so it has to be a bug with WordPress. It is extremely frustrating sincemy Clustr Map reflects new hits to my blog but the icon keeps working and won't load them.

This is the second post I've made re the same issue. PLEASE ADVISE.
