Sure, thank you. I'm sure at this point that this has zero to do with WP and everything to do with Google. Annoying, but hey.

Hi David,

If you look at the past few months, you blog stats fluctuate all the time. It's possible that the change of Google's image interface is partly responsible for it. But there's nothing we can do about that.

You can follow the steps in this guide on how to get more views and traffic: http://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-more-views-and-traffic/

@ apetcher

I checked and find that if you click on the picture, it appears big and all by itself on a black background and, beside it, the name and the linked address of the blog, meaning that the origin of the picture gets now more attention than before.

My blog is philosophical, but it is full of pictures, because I know that people do not read. Most of my work has always been getting the credits for the pictures, and I think that with Google's new display this will be even more important.

I think the stats collapse is due to the big changes made by Google in their image section. There seem to be more institutional image providers at the top of the page and fewer bloggers.

It could also be that Google now gives more top space to recent pictures where before the top pictures were mostly those that had been slowly moving up.

When I say normally 1000++, I mean always! This is either a major stat malfunction or a google issue. Thank you again.

Thanks. In response to a happiness engineer, I have also tagged this sequence modlook.

I will clear my cache and let you know if anything changes. Right now, at 9.11 pm in the UK, I have 404 views. I would normally have 1000 plus at this hour. So the shortfall is a bit less than the 70% that it has been for the past several days, but still significant.

I suspect that this is a result of changes to Google image searches. I have noticed the same thing. Google images no longer shows the relevant post behind the image so there is no incentive to click and go there. My stats have bombed!
