My theme has a "Featured Posts" section that displays any article I make "sticky." Different themes display them in different ways.

I used the Featured Post section for my posts on Autism since April is Autism Awareness Month. It's a good way to highlight favorite or most popular posts as well.

Ones that stay at the top of your posts page permanently. So if you want a historical post to stay at the top to give readers background information, you can make it sticky.

In certain themes, like mine, sticky posts become a slider, bringing movement to your blog. Do readers like that? I think the jury is still out!
