There is no insight to offer. raincoaster said it above. Third party iframes cannot be used on WordPress.com blogs for security reasons. (The twitter widget is an in house widget.) There are no restictions if you hire a web host and set up a WordPress.org install and self host it. WordPress.com vs WordPress.org: The Differences

Hi Raincoaster,

Thanks for responding in this forum. I'm having the same problem gonemtb is having.

The Strava Widget displays the most recent activities of a cycling club. It's similar to a twitter widget.

Any insight you have would be super helpful.

Once more: iFrames do not work at WordPress.com. They are stripped out for security reasons.

Well, no. Iframes don't work in WordPress.com. When they say "Wordpress" they usually mean WordPress.ORG, which is a different type of the software. If you tell us what the widgets are supposed to do, perhaps we can find WP.com compatible versions.
