To the reader, the sub-blog would still just seem like a page on your main blog, but you would post onto it separately. (Might not really need to buy a domain name for it either, if it's just an adjunct to your main blog)

I really like that idea, have been thinking of it for the future for my own blog, to have all the how-to's in a separate, sub-blog from my main blog or vice versa, have the how-to's as the main blog, and the more rambling stuff on the second blog.

If I label a post with the category "Photo Blog" it winds up on the Photography page, but it also posts to the main page

There is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts. We organize our posts by assigning Categories to them. When we publish a post it automatically appears on the running page for posts and also on the Categories pages and Archives pages. Note: There must be one published post in each Category in order for there to be anything to display.

Savorysimple, I'm very curious about what you mean by "pulls from a specific tag when I insert it [is "it" the tag?] into posts. It sounds really interesting and like something I might want to do but I don't understand it at all! (I don't get what you are inserting, and how the photos end up on your Photography page. Are individual photos from different posts added to the Photography page? Sorry to be so nosy!

Is there a way for me to create a subdomain such as photos.savorysimple.net and have it point to a new page on my blog?

I'd like to start adding photography to my site but I don't want them posting on the main page. I've created a page linked on my main menu called Photography that pulls from a specific tag when I insert it into posts. But everything still posts to the main page and I'd like this to be a subset of the main site.

Is this possible? Or maybe this is too much for a blogging site? I'm willing to pay for an additional domain if necessary, but my goal is to keep the site food oriented with the option for people to browse my photography.
