Thanks. I think that was what happened. I'm still not sure why the new post opened there, but I will make sure that I'm in the correct plage before I start entering next time.

I believe you were probably writing your post here > http://wordpress.com/#!/post/ rather than here > Dashboard > Posts > Add New
http://mhasegawa.com/wp-admin/post-new.php

If that's the case then you created an "aside" rather than a "standard" post format. You need to edit the post and then you will be able to add a title, Categories and Tags. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/edit-posts-screen/

However, if you are referring to this http://mhasegawa.com/about-fortleft/ then note it's a Page and not a Post. http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/ Pages cannot have any categories or tags assigned to them. They are only for static content that rarely changes. Only Posts can have categories and tags assigned to them. Also note that there is not automatic way to move the content in a page into a post. It's a copy and paste content into a new post and delete the page task.

I was writing a post this morning and went to added categories and tags and those options did not appear. I do have the recommendations. Is anyone else having this problem?
