how I can also have a black background for the links on my primary sidebar located on the left side of my page for this theme.

It's not the secondary sidebar that has a black background it's the secondary menu.

As well under the header for the theme 'Oxygen' it appears as though you can have pictures and thumbnails. I've been trying to figure it out for quite some time adjusting where the widgets are placed as I thought that may have something to do with it but I have had no luck so far. Can you explain to me how I can have pictures under my header just like in the example of the theme for 'Oxygen' and how I can also have a black background for the links on my primary sidebar located on the left side of my page for this theme.
