Better. Everything sticks around a bit longer before disappearing. Then, after a few seconds, everything seems to come back.

So, the display still "winks out" but it's not permanent.

Richard -

Nope! Same thing as theme previewing ... the page appears briefly, and then everything winks out, with the exception of embedded Youtube videos.

Also, when I went down to "Custom Design" under the "Appearance" menu in the dashboard, the same thing happens when I click "Customize" under the color option. However, changing fonts is unaffected ... I see a good preview of the page when changing fonts.

Hi zombiesymmetry,

If you are still experiencing this issue, could you try the following?

1) Go to your Dashboard
2) In the Admin Bar at the top of your Dashboard, hover your mouse over your site name
3) In the dropdown that appears, there will be a "Customize" link; click that

And as I mentioned in my previous follow-up, I'm getting the issue both with Chrome (24.0.1312.56) and Safari (v. 6.0.2). The issue only appeared recently, since I was able to preview themes okay two weeks ago.

I uploaded a jpeg screen grab, named "theme preview screen grab".

I just tested, and I don't get anything blanking out (in Chrome 24 on Mac). Could you go to this site and tell me what you get for Flash and Javascript? http://supportdetails.com/

Could you also get a screenshot of what your live preview looks like once everything has blanked on you? You can upload the image to your media gallery and tell me here - I'll be able to find it.

I am finding the same thing, I have tried different computers but the live preview doesn't work.

I totally forgot to include my browser info in that post.

I'm running Chrome v. 24.0.1312.56 (latest) in a Macintosh.

I checked with Safari (v. 6.0.2) and am seeing the same thing happen with Live Preview.

So far, emptying the cash and deactivating extensions hasn't had any effect using Chrome. I have no extensions with Safari.

Please be sure you are running a browser version here http://browsehappy.com and if you aren't then upgrade.
Note: If you are using an IE9 browser in compatibility mode that makes it render as IE7 and IE7 is not supported. To disable see > http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html

If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com please do these four things:

1. Try clearing your browser’s cache:

http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050

2. Make sure that you have third-party cookies enabled: http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/

3. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.

4. Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

If it’s still happening, let us know which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://www.whatbrowser.org/ and also post any error reports you get.

There have been some other reports regarding problems with using the theme customizer. I have tagged them all for Staff support. note that it's the weekend so I don't expect Staff will respond instantly to them. You can subscribe to this thread and be notified when they respond.

At some point in the past week, I lost the ability to use the "Live Preview" to check out new themes.

I go to the dashboard to browse new themes periodically. But when I use "Live Preview" now, the content of my website only appears for a second in the theme I'm checking. Then, the content blanks out, with the exception of embedded Youtube videos. All of the content blanks - Title, posts, sidebar, menus, everything except Youtube videos. This happens when trying to preview all themes, including themes I was able to preview just fine a week or so ago.
