As a matter of fact Google frowns on it. That could certainly have an adverse effect on your rankings.

I'm noticing major drops in web stats and the only difference I can think of is that my higher rankings were from the days that my blog shared hosting with my website...now people are going to my site and immediately getting directed to wordpress which I think is hurting me.
