I have registered over a dozen domains with them over the years. Last week I got a message that changes had been made to my account. I immediately replied that I had not made any changes and called support. After two hours on the phone and many emails they refused to restore the domains that I had purchased unless I gave them a copy of my passport or my drivers license ID. I told them they must be crazy if they think I and going to trust them with more personal data after they allowed my account of seven years to be highjacked! The kicker is that all the domains now point to a Godaddy.com page with their ads on it. They offer cheap prices, but in my opinion they are a bunch of crooks.

They told me that wordpress.com does not currently accept incoming domains. That means i need to transfer the registrar to some one else, like godaddy as majority is suggesting. I am also willing to use the mapping service.

thesacredpath, thanks for suggesting to contact the wp support, I posted a mail to them. The contact form is weird and is not a good one for my question. Still i managed to convey my question. I am waiting for a reply.

I have registered a .org domain from register.com and after that came to know it is very costly @35$ per year (only registration). After that i started using wordpress.com blog service and knew about the domain registration and mapping service.
My question is how can i transfer the registrar from register.com to wordpress.com. I mean i do not want to pay to register.com anymore and want to transfer the registration to wordpress.com as if i bought the domain from wordpress.com
