LOL,

I had 3 overnight guests on air mattresses, and 5 this morning showering and wanting breakfast and packing for 6 days, and leaving for a 6 hour drive.

I'm relaxing now: tomatoes are ripe and amazing. And a mango they all forgot. And of course some pasta.

Sorry for the mixup, but happy blogging!

Not a problem at all. (Tangerines offer an AMAZING energy boost and consistent release without the resulting downer *hint, hint*)

Hi sanctifiedbrother

Wow, my apologies. Chalk it up to multi-tasking before the morning coffee. I opened your site, got distracted and when I came back looked at the wrong browser window, thus the wrong blog… Sorry for the confusion.

Hi 1tess,
That's interesting. I've noticed mods tell posters that before and the posters mention that the site is actually a .com, like in my situation. How is it determined that it's a .org? (Not being testy, I'd like to know so I can spare the confusion, going forward.)

My commercial blogs are all .org, sanctifiedbrother.wordpress.com and the98poundweakling.com are both .com blogs.

Thanks for explaining. I'm sure other bloggers would find it useful, too!

Please realize that the site linked to your username is using wordpress.ORG software and in general the answers we provide in this forum are for blogs using the wordpress.COM platform. In many cases, the answers we give won't necessarily work for your questions.

There are different flavors of wordpress and the forum where you will find more useful information is here:
http://wordpress.org/support/

Details about how different things are here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

WordPress.com is a hosting platform that makes it easy for anyone to publish online. You don’t have to download software, pay for hosting, or manage a web server. WordPress.com has hundreds of themes, and includes the functionality of many plugins, but you can’t upload your own plugins or themes.

WordPress.org offers free software that you can install on a web server. You can upload and install themes and plugins, run ads, and edit the database.

So this is a manual convention? I was under the impression I could toggle a setting in the General, Writing, or Reading sections of the Settings under my Dashboard…

Hello,
How do you truncate blog posts on the blog page? I'd rather have a portion show, followed by "Read more…" or "Click here…" or something to that extent. I don't want the entire blog article showing up.

This is specific to the blog page feature of WordPress, not my blog in particular. My blog is sanctifiedbrother.wordpress.com if you want to see a basic example. It applies to other blogs, as well.

Thank you for your assistance.
