If you have CSS editing skills and have purchased an annually renewable custom design upgrade then it may be possible. Without the upgrade it isn't possible to change the location of author's names.

The free and easy way to do this is to have the author type their name on the first line of their post. Also note that you can create a Category under the author's name they can assign to all their posts. More here > Multi-Author WordPress.com Blogs

I'm using the Twenty Eleven theme for my yardsale blog. I want to add a new writer to my blog, but there's a small hitch--I can't figure out how to properly display authors' names on posts. Right now it's only displayed at the very bottom of posts; does anyone know if there's a way to move that to the top?
