They are sutomatically created by the software when you publish a post with a category assigned to it. This is the format of a category url http://fashionmarketingandvenice.wordpress.com/category/NAME_OF_CATEGORY
So your create a cusom menu and you then add the category URL to it.

I spent about 1h trying to understand why when i check if the category pages I created work correctly, there's no post in them. I followed the guide to create custom menus (I have a twenty eleven theme) and for each menu I added a page and a category as written... nothing shown on any of the new pages. Why? Help!
