That's a "404" page not found error message. When you deleted the Hello World placeholder post it appeared. When you actually have created and published a post, not a page then it will disappear.

Some themes have "Home" tabs that are just tabs and not actual pages and they cannot be edited or deleted. Instead you can create a custom menu as described here > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/05/06/the-home-tab/

Hi,

I'm not very experienced with creating blogs, and I've run into a problem that's got me stumped.

In the blog header area just below the blog image (you know, where it usually says "Home" and "About") I changed the "About" title to a new title when I published a page replacing "About" with the title I wanted. In other words, "About" disappeared and in its place was the new title, with the text I wrote.

However, I cannot get into "Home" page to do the same thing and add my own words. I tried writing a page entitled "Home," which showed up when I published it, no problem. However, it showed up IN ADDITION to the original "Home," which contains the following text: "Nothing Found. Apologies, but no results were found for the requested archive. Perhaps searching will help find a related post."

I tried changing the title to "Home Page," and again "Home" is sitting right there next to it.

What I want to do is get into that ORIGINAL "Home" page so that I can either edit or delete it completely. But I cannot find a way to do that. Can anyone help me? I'd be immensely grateful!

Cheers,
Susannah
