Also, please double-check your Compatibility Mode settings.

When IE 9 is in Compatibility Mode, it reports itself as IE 7, because it uses IE 7's rendering engine.

Hi, mypenandme,

As timethief pointed out, the message you are seeing should only be shown to IE7 and below. It's strange that the server would suddenly think your browser had downgraded like that. In fact, the forum registered you as posting from IE7 in your post here.

Web servers depend on a browser property called a user agent to decide to which sort of client they're talking. Can you please visit the following site and let us know what it says your user agent is?

Thanks,
Jeff

Yesterday I received a message in my notifications that says, "Please upgrade your browser to keep using notifications. Soon, your browser will no longer be supported" My personal tech support person says that my browser is fine. Why do I have to upgrade my browser in order to keep using notifications? Is this simply a problem on WordPress that is going to be corrected? I can't get into my notifications when I click on the notifications box. I can only do so in a round about way by going directly to MY COMMENTS and then clicking on the notifications box. This problem did not exist until yesterday when suddenly the notification box contained the 'number' of notifications within it. Please advise.
